Second Hand - fair to good condition
This book records in infinite detail the formative years of the Fokker company and tells, more than any other history, the story of the men and their aircraft whose work and achievements made that company one of the greatest aircraft companies in the world. Most important, it does belated honour to Reinhold Platz, the man who designed the best of the Fokker aircraft of the 1914-18 war period and the most famous of the Fokker transport monoplanes.
The development of the earlier Fokker aeroplanes, their successes and failures, are told in authentic detail, and the text corrects many erroneous beliefs and sets many records straight. The numerous illustrations come from the collections of the author and other historians and many have never previously been published.
The reprint of this book, which is a great collector's item, and has been almost unobtainable in recent years, will be widely welcomed.
