A very rare original piece of aircraft fabric from the Fokker D.VII (4635/18) in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum collection is currently for sale at The Horse Soldier antique store in Gettysburg, PA: -

(Go to “inventory” and then “WWI/ WWII.”  It is listed as item 476-36).

The piece of fabric is 8 x 11 inches in size and appears to be the multi-color lozenge pattern used on the underside of the wings.  The piece belonged to aviation historian/author Stanley M. Ulanoff; the Smithsonian presented the fabric to him in 1969 to recognize his contributions to the restoration project.  The original piece is accompanied by a 1969-dated letter to Ulanoff that establishes provenance, as well as two large (1 yard square) pieces of the reproduction fabric used to restore the aircraft (manufactured by Greeff Fabrics).

Aircraft number 4635/18 is one of only seven remaining original Fokker D.VII fighters in the world.

Best regards,
