ZEPPELIN OVER SUFFOLK: The Final Raid of the L48
by Mark Mower Click on the cover to buy from Amazon! Pen & Sword Books Ltd, 47 Church Street, Barnsley, S Yorks, S70 2AS 148pp, 155×235mm, softback, ISBN 9781844157372, ₤12.99 There was a splendid ‘Timewatch’ on British TV, broadcast in February 2007, about the last voyage of the L48, in which the author assisted, and he has brought his vast local knowledge to this well written book. Not only is the voyage itself detailed, but the aftermath as well – one of the three survivors lived until 1963. There is a useful Technical Glossary, a Chronology of East Anglian Airship History, and many illustrations and never before seen photographs. I like airships and local history, and this book combines the best of both. Ray Rimell has also written about this airship (reviewed in 2006).
