Hi Troops:

Does anyone know the source for the belief that Werner Voss' Fokker Tri-plane (F1-103/17) had a leRhone engine instead of a German Oberursel??  I simply have a hard time believing that Anthony Fokker would power his latest and greatest sent to one of Germany's top pilots with a salvaged French engine.

Hello Bill,
The engine was a 110hp Le Rhone T6247J, from Nieuport 17  A6693. flown  Lt E J D Townsend of 60 Sqdn who was shot down on 5th April 1917. This was established by the British report on 103/17.
