I guess that this is the remains of an Avro 504K but from this hazy image can anyone suggest what  the marking on the tail is and does the prop laying on the ground tell us anything about the aircraft?

This photo now confirmed as Avro 504K G-EBAV built 1918 by Hewlett and Blondeau Ltd. Purchased by Leatherhead Aviation Services in 1922.

It crashed on 20th August 1922 after 'the pilot climbed in a wide left hand turn to a height of little over 1000 ft and then apparently attempted to loop the machine (reported as an Immelmann Turn). From a vertically upward position the aeroplane fell over into a spinning nose-dive from which it failed to recover.'

It was further reported that the pilot and the 2 passengers were seriously injured.

I only know of single and two-seater versions. Can anyone tell me about a 3-seater Avro 504K?
