As far as I can tell by 1917 it was the norm for squadrons deploying to France to make their first stop at St Omer, and then to proceed to their allocated aerodrome and meet up with the ground crews who had traveled out before the pilots. Does any one know if St Omer recoded the arrival and departures of Squadron entering or leaving
