Lt Douglas Haviland Bacon was serving with 60 Sqn when he was shot down and killed on 16 Nov 1916.  The squadron had Nieuport 16s and 17s at the time.  Please can anyone tell me which type Douglas was flying and if possible the particular aircraft?
Many thanks for any help you can give.
David

David
According to that most essential book 'The Sky Their Battlefield', page 126, by Trevor Henshaw, Lt D.H. Bacon was flying Nieuport 16 'A225' when he was KIA.  In the Cross & Cockade publication 'Nieuports in RNAS,RFC and RAF Service', page 101, it is also stated to be a Nieuport 16 'A225'.
I hope this is of use.
Mike
