The line-up of 504k's is interesting. Is that a kangaroo, or a large mouse, painted on the nearest machine?

Here's one that I could do with some help on. I'm trying to help out the Eastchurch museum
and found this photo in my collection. I'm not sure which squadron this would be but the officer is Flt Johnstone. My G G Uncle has his sergeants stripes which he gained in May 1915. That is all I have. ![]() ![]() Edited by 354 Griggs - 08 Aug 2016 at 17:46 |

May 1915, Eastchurch and RFC are mismatches.

The Avro line-up is familiar - 13 TS at Dover. Suspect the DH4s are 49 Sqn.

This photo surprised me somewhat given that SCG seems a rather stern character, but here he is (looking a bit sheepish) in the Upavon Ragtime Band.

SCG seems to have been the type of character who could tolerate (just) being photographed in a formal manner, but put in an informal situation - as in the previous photo - he would rather not be 'front and centre'. You can almost sense him thinking, 'I don't really want to be here'. Wonderful photos Griggs - keep em coming. Edited by whiskymac - 10 Aug 2016 at 07:15 |

Interesting mix of attire. Could this be RFC/RNAS? No date or location sadly.
