Indiegogo, an independent film-maker, is producing a film about the first British ace, Lanoe Hawker VC DSO. CCI are proud to support this project. It will be a short film (approx 15mins+) about Lanoe Hawker and the actions for which he was awarded the Victoria Cross. They have set up a crowd-funding link for contributions to the costs. The main body of filming is due to take place in 2022. Upon completion it will firstly be sent to all the crowd-funding supporters as one of the "rewards" before being submitted to a number of film festivals around the world. After the initial festival run it will be released for public viewing (for free) on YouTube. Their goal is to use the short as a "proof of concept" to try to fund a larger feature-length film about Hawker, 24 Sqn and the early fight against the Fokker scourge, ending with Hawker's famous battle with von Richthofen. So by contributing to the costs, you will hopefully be eventually contributing to a major film which will help to bring WW1 aviation, it’s heroes and it’s sacrifice, back into the public consciousness.
