Best WW1 Aviation Art

Every summer, the Guild of Aviation Artists stages ‘Aviation Paintings of the Year’, a major exhibition at the prestigious Mall Galleries in Central London, where over 400 works go on show. It is the largest exhibition of its kind in the world, with this year’s exhibition being judged on 9th July 2018.

The winner of the 2018 CCI Prize for Best WW1 Aviation Painting was Graham Turner's‘ magnificent oil painting:
"Dawn of the Machines, DH2 and Tank - Somme, September 1916", which sold for £4,750.

High commended by the CCI judge was an acrylic by James Field:
"Leckie's First Zeppelin: Curtiss H.12 and Zeppelin L.22", which sold for £225.
