This is a ‘new updated edition’ of a book first published in 1997, and reviewed in 29/1, which I do not have to hand. There is a reference to a dust cover that is not supplied with this volume, and I could find only one later addition to the text.

The massive new(ish) Australian War Memorial at Le Hamel, from which the best overview of the final action can be obtained, is not mentioned either. However, this is (as the authors claim) the definitive answer to the question that has been asked so often ever since: what really did happen on the day that Von Richthofen was shot down. The research is meticulous, the pictures and diagrams are accurate and compelling, the story is well told. And at the price, it is a bargain.
