That is the way his name is spelt on the cover. This is another reissue of von Richthofen’s autobiography, The Red Air Fighter, which first appeared in German in 1917, and was translated into English the following year. As well as the original footnotes by C.G. Grey, this edition has the added attraction of an introduction and a victory list from Norman Franks, and an Appendix listing all the aircraft he flew, compiled by N.H. Hauprich, which together take up 35 of the 192 pages. There are some good photographs and if you don’t already have this book, now is the time to take advantage of this well priced offering.
