There are two reasons for reviewing this book. I first came across this annual in 1999, when it was known as the Genealogical Services Directory. This latest edition is packed with genealogical and military research sources. There are major sections listing national and local record offices and archives, local history groups, cemeteries and crematoria, libraries, national and local Registration offices. Couple this with an extensive listing of museums, and you have a valuable resource in one volume. There are also many articles about military history research, some by members of this society. It may help with contacts abroad if the person you are researching came from overseas. In my opinion, well worth adding to your bookshelf if you are an active researcher, it represents excellent value for money. Oh, the other reason is that for the first time, our society has contributed to the content.
