For those who consider that
pictures tell a thousand words, and I confess to enjoying picture books as a valid source
of information, this is a good series to browse through.
Airships of the First World War successfully gives the reader a one stop appreciation
for the amazing variety of images that this form of aviation provided. There is of course
the inevitable tragedy, the image of airships that the general public would no doubt
recall if pressed, but of course there is much more to discover. This comprehensive but
slender book does present good value for money, especially if your library is at all
lacking in this department. Personally I enjoyed the two chapters on the French and
Italian craft, and perhaps here there is a gap in the market.. |
