CCI London Event

War in the Sunshine The British in Italy 1917-1918
Thursday 9 March

We are pleased to confirm a private after hours viewing of this wonderful exhibition at the Estorick Collection of Modern Art, 39a Canonbury Square London N1 2AN. It’s just a five minute walk from Highbury & Islington Station.
The exhibition features the wonderful paintings of Sydney Carline, who flew Sopwith Camels over the Italian Front and became an official war artist. Our guide for the evening will be the curator of the exhibition, Dr Jonathan Black - Senior Research Fellow in History of Art, Kingston University.

More info on the exhibition here: http://bit.ly/2laRlcs

The evening will start at 18.30 and will finish at 20.30, giving us the chance to visit the exhibition with Jonathan, and then to explore the Permanent Collection afterwards. There are plenty of places nearby for a pie and a pint when we've finished!

This is the first organised London event for some time (outside of the AGM) and we would really appreciate your support. The Committee have agreed that if we can get 15 attendees, each making a voluntary contribution, then Cross & Cockade will cover the costs of the event.

Anyone wishing to attend should contact David Marks in advance to reserve their place: davidmarks@talk21.com
